Is the interior design crash-safe?

Safety is a major value and founding principle of BYTON. BYTON will be homologated in our target markets right from the start of production. Despite BYTON’s interior design being innovative, front airbags are still located where you would expect them to be. In the event of a crash, they deploy exactly like in a conventional car. The driver’s airbag is stored and deploys from a dedicated compartment that sits below the BYTON Driver Tablet. The front passenger’s airbag is integrated into the horizontal part of the dashboard, right in front of the occupant.

BYTON uses a soft silicone coating that prevents onboard displays from shattering in the event of a serious road accident. This overall safety and security concept meets the homologation requirements on all our target markets.

Does the BYTON Stage obstruct my view of the road?

The BYTON Stage is perfectly placed without obstructing the occupants’ view of the vehicle’s surroundings. The driver can fully see the road, as the top end of the BYTON Stage is in the continuity of the hood line.

The BYTON Stage sits at an ideal distance and angle from the driver’s eyes. It is also perfectly integrated into the dashboard with the optimal inclination. Therefore, it becomes part of the driver’s environment, enhancing visibility of the road and enriching the driving experience. This interior design is meeting all homologation requirements in BYTON’s target markets worldwide.

Conventional user interfaces feature multiple displays in multiple locations, along with many control buttons. BYTON opts for a simple, single-display dashboard design. Since the BYTON Stage is not a touchscreen, it can be placed further away to seamlessly blend with the vehicle’s environment and the driver’s surroundings.

The BYTON Stage shows all relevant driving information where the instrument cluster is traditionally located. It also offers a camera-based surround view leveraging augmented reality, further enhancing driving safety.

The BYTON Stage is the biggest display ever fitted in a production vehicle; information about driving conditions, vehicle status and road safety has never been better displayed.

The content displayed on the BYTON Stage automatically adjusts depending on the circumstances. For instance, entertainment can be streamed when the vehicle is stationary and is instantly switched to the 3D navigation map when the vehicle starts moving.

How does BYTON deal with the screen brightness and reflections on the displays?

The BYTON Stage features a real-time automatic dimming function that adjusts the brightness of the display based on the driving conditions: weather, time of the day and surrounding light.

You might already know what happens to existing satellite navigation systems every time you enter a tunnel today. BYTON takes this feature further and adapts from Day Mode to Night Mode whenever your vehicle enters a darker environment.

The coating of the serial production BYTON Stage and BYTON Driver Tablet is specifically designed to avoid excessive glaring and adjust screen brightness in a non-distracting way for the driver. Therefore, reflection on the windshield and surrounding windows will be significantly reduced.

The level and technology of tint used for the glass roof, windshield and windows will ensure the optimal, safe experience of BYTON’s revolutionary user interface.

Is the revolutionary interface distracting for the driver?

BYTON’s onboard experiences rely on a highly flexible software-based user interface allowing operating system updates. The target is to make it as intuitive and user-friendly as possible.
